Julian Ingram Death – Body Believed to Be Julian Ingram Found Months After NSW Triple Shooting
A body believed to be that of alleged triple murder suspect Julian Ingram has been discovered in a “very decomposed state” months after a deadly shooting spree shocked the western New South Wales community of Lake Cargelligo.
New South Wales Police confirmed on Monday that officers located the body of a 37-year-old man beside a white Ford Ranger and a firearm at Roundhill Nature Reserve, approximately 100 kilometres northeast of Lake Cargelligo. Although formal identification is still pending, authorities believe the remains are those of Ingram based on clothing found at the scene, identification located inside the vehicle, and the vehicle registration matching the ute allegedly used during the January 22 shootings.
Ingram had been the subject of an extensive manhunt after allegedly killing his pregnant former partner, Sophie Quinn, 25, her aunt Nerida Quinn, 50, and family friend John Harris, 32, in separate shootings across the rural town. Another victim, 19-year-old Kaleb Macqueen, survived after sustaining serious injuries.
Police allege the violence began on Bokhara Street when shots were fired into a hatchback carrying Ms Quinn and Mr Harris. Shortly afterward, Nerida Quinn was fatally shot at a nearby residence on Walker Street.
Authorities had not recorded any confirmed sightings of Ingram since he was reportedly seen leaving Lake Cargelligo in the white ute shortly after the attacks. Investigators spent weeks searching surrounding bushland and nearby regions, later extending operations toward Mount Hope. In March, police announced a $250,000 reward for information leading to his capture.
Western Region Commander Andrew Holland described the discovery as bringing “closure” to both investigators and the devastated local community.
Police say investigations into the exact circumstances surrounding the death remain ongoing, with a coroner expected to determine how long the body had been at the reserve and the cause of death.
