The Christian community in Lebanon, Tennessee, and beyond is mourning the heartbreaking loss of Evan Roberts Locke, the 20-year-old son of Pastor Greg Locke, who passed away on Friday, May 8, following an overdose that reportedly caused his heart to stop. His sudden passing has deeply impacted family, friends, church members, and countless others who had followed his personal struggles and continued praying for his healing and restoration.

Evan is being remembered as a young man with a beautiful heart, a kind spirit, and a deep love for those around him despite the battles he faced privately. In recent days, an emotional story shared by his mother, Taisha Locke, has resonated deeply with mourners. Just weeks before his passing, Evan unexpectedly visited his mother while she was tending to matters at the family’s former property. Without warning or occasion, he simply walked toward her and said, “Hey, Momma, I just wanted to stop by and say I love you.” After embracing her, he quietly left — a moment that would become their final goodbye.
