Dequan Gravely Obituary, Accokeek, MD Accident Death – In Loving Memory

The community is mourning the loss of 23-year-old Dequan Gravely, who died Friday morning in a tragic crash involving a school bus on Indian Head Highway.

Prince George’s County Police Department responded to the collision, which involved a school bus and two other vehicles, at the intersection of Indian Head Highway and Pine Drive shortly before 7:30 a.m.

Gravely, the driver of one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene. The school bus driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Debris from the crash also struck a third vehicle, though the driver declined medical treatment.

Preliminary investigations indicate that Gravely was driving north on Indian Head Highway approaching Pine Drive when the southbound school bus attempted a left turn onto Pine Drive. The collision caused the bus to tip onto its side, leading to the fatal outcome.
