According to the Connecticut State Police, a female passenger was killed after a vehicle struck a tree near Exit 13 and burst into flames. During response efforts at the same location, a second collision involved a Connecticut State Police cruiser. Authorities reported that the patrol vehicle was struck by another driver, causing the cruiser to catch fire.
